I’m not sure if long distance ice skating is a thing in the USA, in fact, I can’t recall ever hearing about it while I was growing up.. That’s not saying much of course considering I grew up on Oahu, Hawaii and in Herlong, California. In any case here in Sweden in the winter people pull out their long distance skates and enjoy the miles and miles of frozen lakes and coast line.
Our little family decided to take a days trip down to the local lake, which is a few hundred meters from the house. We packed in the toddler, some sandwiches and hot cocoa. Was nice day out. Read More
Well, the title is a bit cliche but that’s alright.. I’m of course referring to Swedens tallest mountain in the background Kebnakaise. This panorama was taken on our first night after about a 20 kilometer hike. We went off trail to get some peace and quiet and found this excellent little site between two mountain streams, freezing cold to cross but well worth it.
This picture was taken along kingstrail in northern Sweden. It is three pictures stitched together using lightrooms new Panorama setting.
I love my hometown of Herlong, California. Though desolate and desperate for most people, this town has such hidden character and beauty. Anyway, I took this pic while cruising around a few summers ago. This was taken at Herlong High School and it’s hard to see it, but I’m standing on second base taking a picture on the baseball field, or atleast what used to be the baseball field.
Now I can’t say I was all pro and unlike most Americans you meet abroad: I was never offered a scholarship, or turned down a pro chance to pursue my love of music or whatever. I was actually pretty decent at baseball, however my interest in girls far outweighed any interest I had in sports and because of that I never played a full season of anything, well basketball perhaps.. but thats another story. I took this picture while finishing off my week long hike along southern kingstrail along the Swedish mountains in late september. You can read different articles I have written about this trip here: Read More
Not the most inspiring title in the world, but kind of works 🙂 When I was back home in Herlong, California back in 2013 me and my parents took the UTV out (bigger ATV) onto Honey lake. We cruised around for a good several hours and as the sun was setting over the Sierra Nevada mountain range we stumbled upon this enormous metal thingy lying there on the dried out lake bed. It was fairly surreal just how large this was, the picture doesn’t really do it any justice in that manner. I used a 12mm lens on my full frame sony A7R and had the camera very close on a tripod. This is a series of three exposures – HDR in other words.
This picture was taken outside of Fulufjället in central Sweden. I believe this was on the third day of a five day hike. Anyway, I was pretty sick and tired of how wet this trail was. I of course should have been well accustomed to the wetness by the third day but my feet hadn’t been dry for more than five minutes when I came across this lovely section of the trail. Read More
I took this shot while sleeping along side Görälven. This was the night before the red moon so the moon was massive and bright! This was a simple Long exposure with my fujifilm x-t1 and 18mm lens.
